Flyers have been used by the scene since it's beginning, in order to spread the word of forthcoming soul events. Some of these flyers are now becoming very scarce and dare I say quite collectable, as they merely perishable pieces of paper and were often simply thrown away quite quickly.

Below is a selection from over the last twenty years or so, featuring clubs like Wigan Casino, Top of the World at Stafford, Hinckley Leisure Centre, Clifton Hall Rotherham and London's long standing and infamous 100 Club.

Above is a right mixed bunch from across the years!
Top left is the flyer handed out at the "End of an Era" nighter at the Casino - a bit of a shock really, as everyone had assumed that they were indeed at the last nighter! I bought a ticket as well, which I'll scan later...the Tommy Hunt night didn't happen, by the way....and by the end of September '81 another half a dozen dates were announced! The final night was eventually December 5th 1981...I was there!
The bunch of Stafford ones are also quite rare nowadays - please note the early one, "The Toast of the North" is an early one, and doesn't even feature Guy Hennigan or Keb Darge at that stage!
The Hinckley Leisure Centre also played an important part of the scene in the 80's, with it's large capacity and many live acts - Major Lance and Junior Walker flyers are above - I'll have to dig out the "Ric-Tic Revue" one as well!
To the left are some more early 80's flyers for various venues, plus a mid 80's 100 Club one, which I had to paste up as it was the legendary time when a good friend of mine, Mark George, guested at there!
Anorak's Corner!
